The county has formed a Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon Task Force, led by Deputy County Governor Lee Jingwan, and is focusing its administrative resources on revitalizing the local economy and stabilizing residents' livelihoods through swift coupon distribution.
On the 15th, the county conducted preliminary training for township officials to ensure rapid coupon distribution. The visiting service will begin on the 28th, and residents can inquire at the welfare team of their local township office for more information.
The "Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon," which will be distributed to all citizens, provides 200,000 KRW per person for general residents (including those in the top 10% income bracket), 350,000 KRW for those in the second-lowest income bracket and single-parent families, and 450,000 KRW for basic livelihood security recipients. Additionally, starting September 22, an extra 100,000 KRW will be provided to all except those in the top 10% income bracket.
The first application period will run for eight weeks until September 12. In principle, coupons will be distributed to residents who lived in Imsil County as of June 18. Applications must be made individually, and eligible residents can apply both online and offline from 9:00 a.m. on the 21st until 6:00 p.m. on September 12.
Residents can choose to receive the coupons via credit/debit card, Imsil Sarang Gift Certificate (mobile or card), or prepaid card. Those who wish to receive the coupons via credit or debit card can apply online through their card company’s website, app, call center, or ARS, or visit a bank branch affiliated with their card.
Residents who prefer the Imsil Sarang Gift Certificate can apply through the Imsil Sarang Gift Certificate app (mobile or card type), while those who want a prepaid card should visit their local township community center to apply.
To prevent congestion and system overload during the first week of both online and offline applications, a day-of-the-week system based on the last digit of the birth year will be implemented. Monday is for those whose birth year ends in 1 or 6, Tuesday for 2 or 7, Wednesday for 3 or 8, Thursday for 4 or 9, Friday for 5 or 0, and everyone can apply online during the weekend.
The first round of applications for the Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupons will close on September 12, and both applications and distribution will end at that time. Therefore, residents who wish to receive the coupons must apply within the designated period.
The use of the Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupons is restricted to within the county and limited to small business establishments with annual sales of 3 billion KRW or less, or at merchants affiliated with the Imsil Sarang Gift Certificate program. However, usage is restricted at large supermarkets and online shopping malls. The coupons can be used for more than four months, until November 30, and any unused amount after the period will be reclaimed by the national and local governments.
County Governor Shim Min stated, "These consumption coupons are not simply a form of support, but a tailored recovery policy designed to ensure that spending leads to a virtuous cycle in the local economy. We will ensure rapid distribution so that they can revitalize the local economy."
