This project is operated by the Paju Housing Welfare Center, which is responsible for practical implementation. It is a public-private partnership housing welfare model in which both the public and private sectors participate to substantially improve the living conditions of vulnerable groups.
At the donation ceremony held at Paju City Hall on July 17, a total of eight construction companies?including Daewoo E&C, Dong-A Engineering & Construction, Woomee Construction, GS E&C, Jeil Construction (A3·A46 blocks), Hyundai E&C, and Hoban Industries?participated and contributed materials, construction services, and donations worth approximately 40 million won, uniting for a common cause.
The 'Paju-type G-Housing' project provides customized renovations for citizens living in poor housing conditions, including wallpapering, flooring, kitchen replacement, and home repair and cleaning. Participating companies contribute in various ways, such as providing materials, deploying technical personnel, volunteering for construction, and making cash donations, while the center oversees the entire process from identifying needs to managing construction and conducting follow-up inspections.
A representative from one of the construction companies who attended the event said, "Although our contribution may be small, we hope it will bring great hope to the citizens of Paju," adding, "We expect this to become a good example of the construction industry growing together with the local community through sharing."
Kim Kyungil, mayor of Paju, stated, "A house is not simply a space, but a starting point that can change a person's life," and added, "The Paju-type G-Housing project goes beyond simple home repairs; it is a practical implementation of housing welfare that truly improves quality of life and a process of restoring the spirit of community care."
Mayor Kim further emphasized, "We will continue this public-private partnership model to make Paju a city where people want to live and a warm, caring community."
The home renovation projects made possible through these donations will be carried out sequentially through August, with all work scheduled for completion within the month.
