Applications accepted until August 28
Up to 100,000 won for 20 teams
The Gochang Culture and Tourism Foundation in North Jeolla Province announced on July 18 that its stay-type tourism expense support program, "Gochang Hanbam," will continue to provide travel expense support in August.
During the first half of the year, the foundation reported that a total of 111 groups, comprising 327 people, visited Gochang through the "Gochang Hanbam" program, generating approximately 51 million won in local spending. The most popular destinations among Gochang Hanbam travelers were Gochang Eupseong Fortress and Sangha Farm, while the most frequently chosen accommodations included Farmers Village and Gochang Eupseong Hanok Village. Residents of the Seoul and Gyeonggi metropolitan area accounted for about 40% of participants, and a notable feature was the high proportion of small groups, particularly families of three to four members.
Encouraged by this positive response, the foundation will provide travel expense support for "Gochang Hanbam" travelers in August. Tourists who wish to participate can share their travel itinerary in advance via Naver Form until August 28. Any adult residing outside of Gochang is eligible to apply, and a total of 20 teams will receive up to 100,000 won in travel expense support, with the amount varying by team.
Participants will be eligible for support if they meet simple requirements such as staying in Gochang, visiting tourist attractions or restaurants, and providing verification on social media. The program may close early if the budget is exhausted, as support will be provided in the order applications are settled.
Additionally, during the second half of the year, a special event for former residents returning home for the Chuseok holiday will be held, offering a warm welcome and travel benefits to those visiting their hometown.
Cho Changhwan, Executive Director of the Gochang Culture and Tourism Foundation, stated, "Gochang Hanbam is a project that brings positive change to both travelers and the local community by allowing visitors to spend a day immersed in Gochang's nature and culture. I hope that this summer, you will create special memories and enjoy valuable benefits in Gochang."
