Moa Life Plus Exceeds Export Targets Through Global Supply Agreement with Swiss RAHN

Moa Life Plus, a developer of bio-based functional cosmetic ingredients, announced on July 18 that it is achieving visible results in the global market through a supply agreement for cosmetic-grade poly-gamma-glutamic acid with RAHN AG, a Swiss multinational supplier of cosmetic materials.

Just three months after signing a long-term supply contract in March, the company recorded export sales of USD 620,000, exceeding its first-year target by approximately 160%. As a result, it is expected to easily achieve its annual raw material export goal of USD 1 million.

Since 2017, Moa Life Plus has been collaborating with RAHN to jointly develop differentiated skincare formulations utilizing the superior functionality and skin compatibility of its core material, poly-gamma-glutamic acid (Poly-γ-glutamic acid, γ-PGA). As a result, in 2023, the company secured clinical results from a German institution showing that the moisturizing power of γ-PGA is significantly superior to that of hyaluronic acid. This year, it also obtained the prestigious European COSMOS certification for natural cosmetics, gaining international recognition for the safety and eco-friendliness of its products.

The COSMOS certification is a global standard jointly established by major certification bodies in France, Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom. It can only be obtained by meeting strict requirements for raw material selection and eco-friendly manufacturing processes. This certification is increasingly being used as a standard for ingredient adoption by premium European cosmetic brands and is expanding in scope.

A representative from Moa Life Plus stated, "The increased export volume with RAHN is more than just raw material exports; it is an opportunity to showcase the technological prowess and excellence of Korean bio-materials to the world." The representative added, "In the second half of the year, we plan to actively pursue joint marketing with RAHN to expand into the Asian and North American markets."

Meanwhile, the global healthcare company Moa Life Plus is further solidifying its position in the global natural cosmetic ingredient market based on its differentiated microbial fermentation technology. Recently, through technological cooperation with Chungbuk National University, the company is not only developing functional materials derived from fermented microorganisms but is also working on the development of exosome-based cosmetic ingredients.
