On the 16th, when a heavy rain advisory was issued, the district conducted inspections at major sites such as construction sites, apartment complexes, underpasses, and the area around Jungnangcheon Stream, making every effort to eliminate risks such as flooding and collapse.

In particular, the district focused on inspecting rainwater inlets and drainage channels around apartment complexes and commercial areas near Jungnangcheon and Jeongneungcheon Streams, quickly removing debris and floating matter to preemptively block the risk of flooding. The district also promptly removed soil from construction sites caused by heavy rainfall, and deployed service personnel to collect floating debris accumulated in the green areas along Jungnangcheon Stream.

Mayor Lee Pilhyung stated, "As a result of the on-site inspections, minor issues were addressed immediately. We will continue restoration work along the riverbanks to create a safer river environment," adding, "We will continue to prioritize the safety of our residents and do our utmost to respond proactively."

Dongdaemun District plans to continue adjusting its response level flexibly according to weather conditions and to carry out regular on-site inspections and restoration work, focusing on disaster-prone areas.
