Edtech startup True Value announced on July 17 that its self-actualization platform 'Dream Appeal' has recorded a cumulative total of 61,125 users from its official service launch in 2022 through last year.
Dream Appeal is a service where users, called 'Dreamers,' set their own dreams, record their goals and actions in the form of posts, and communicate with others. During the COVID-19 pandemic, when school classes were moved online, Dream Appeal built a digital career environment through beta testing. After the official launch, the platform experienced rapid growth as students participated voluntarily and demand from schools increased.
Career guidance teachers also began actively using Dream Appeal as a teaching resource, enabling students to continue career activities independently after class. In addition to content production support, the platform provides career support funds, scholarship connections, one-on-one mentoring, and experiential education infrastructure. As a result, a total of 846 schools are currently using Dream Appeal as a career education program.
Dream Appeal is officially registered with the Ministry of Education. In 2023, the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education adopted it as a pilot project, providing differentiated career education to middle and high school students in Incheon for three consecutive years. True Value plans to expand the service nationwide to other education offices based on Incheon's successful case.
Over the past three years, students have registered approximately 350,000 action cases on Dream Appeal. An average of 10,000 action cases are posted each month. The total number of 'likes' (support) and comments left on these actions has exceeded 6.7 million, with each Dreamer communicating about their dreams with an average of 36.2 people.
The average annual communication frequency per user is 384 times, meaning users discuss their dreams with other Dreamers more than once a day. Based on this accumulated data of actions and communication, True Value is developing a self-actualization artificial intelligence (AI) assistant service that supports users throughout their entire life cycle.
In particular, the user personality diagnosis engine is being developed as part of the 'TIPS' research project. Some features, partially developed with support from Google, will be released through 'My Mission Studio' (MMS), a micro social networking service (SNS)-style learning management system (LMS) focused on action and built using Dream Appeal's development expertise.
Jung Jooyoung, CEO of True Value, said, "Recently, we established a partnership and received positive feedback through the Sanrio Startup Pitch in Japan, where the educational environment is similar to Korea's." He added, "We will take on the challenge of entering the Japanese market, based on AI technology development and follow-up Series A investment."
