The deposit account for former President Yoon Seokyoul, who has been re-detained, has reportedly reached its limit of 4 million won. This comes just one day after Attorney Kyeri Kim, a member of Yoon's legal team, disclosed the account number for deposits on her social networking service (SNS).

On July 11, Attorney Kim wrote on Facebook, "It is unthinkable for the President to carry cash, so he entered custody suddenly without a penny and has not been able to buy anything." She continued, "I made a hurried deposit after hearing that the deposit had to be made by 4 p.m. on Friday in order to purchase items before the weekend," and she shared both the relevant account number and her remittance details.

Regarding the delay in sending the deposit, Attorney Kim explained, "I was told that the deposit could not be made because an official inmate number had not been assigned," and added, "The inmate number was only issued late at night on the 10th, and on the morning of the 11th, everyone was preoccupied with the search and seizure."

Afterwards, it was reported that former President Yoon's deposit account reached the maximum limit of 4 million won within a day of the account number being made public. Attorney Kim also shared a transaction notification stating, 'The transaction amount has exceeded the maximum limit,' and wrote, "It is difficult to confirm the administrative details precisely," adding, "I will inquire with the detention center on Monday, resolve the issue, and update everyone again."

According to the Ministry of Justice’s guidelines for managing deposited property, deposits can be received regardless of the amount. However, the amount a single inmate can use is limited to 4 million won. Any amount exceeding this limit is kept in a personal account under the inmate’s name and is paid out upon release. Under these regulations, former President Yoon can use up to 20,000 won per day in the detention center. However, this daily limit applies only to the purchase of food and similar items; expenses for medicines, clothing, and bedding are excluded from this limit.

Meanwhile, since being detained, former President Yoon did not attend the rebellion trial scheduled for July 10 or the special investigation team’s summons on July 11, citing health reasons. In response, Special Prosecutor Cho Eonseok’s team notified former President Yoon again to appear on July 14. Deputy Special Prosecutor Park Jiyoung stated in a briefing the previous day, "We requested former President Yoon’s appearance on the 14th through his attorney," and added, "We received a response from correctional authorities stating that 'no health issues have been objectively identified during the health check conducted upon admission or in the subsequent custody management process.'"
