Held for One Month Starting from the 12th
Approximately 10,000 Participants Expected
Kyobo Life Insurance announced on the 14th that the 2025 Kyobo Life Insurance Cup Dream Tree Sports Competition has kicked off its month-long series of events, starting with track and field in Seocheon County, Chungcheongnam-do.
This year’s competition is being held across Seocheon County, Asan City, Sangju City, Gimcheon City, and Jecheon City. Beginning on the 12th, approximately 4,000 student athletes will showcase their skills over 30 days in seven sports: track and field, judo, skating, table tennis, tennis, swimming, and gymnastics. Including parents and coaches, the total number of attendees at the venues is expected to reach about 10,000.

The Dream Tree Sports Competition, hosted by Kyobo Life Insurance, is the only nationwide comprehensive youth sports event organized by the private sector. It has been held for 41 consecutive years since 1985 to discover and nurture young athletic talent early and to promote basic sports disciplines. The cumulative number of participants has reached approximately 155,000.
The Dream Tree Sports Competition is regarded as an opportunity to meet future Olympic stars with exceptional talent. In fact, more than 500 national athletes, including Woo Sanghyeok, a leading figure in Korean high jump; Shin Yubin, who was recognized as a table tennis prodigy from a young age; Park Taehwan, a legendary figure in Korean swimming; and Yoo Seungmin, President of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, have all participated in this competition.
Kyobo Life Insurance has prepared a variety of side events to help foster camaraderie and friendship among student athletes during this competition. Notably, Jung Youngsik, a former national table tennis player, and others will hold autograph sessions, and commemorative gifts will be distributed through on-site events.
Support will also continue to cultivate leaders with the right sportsmanship. Promising young athletes who demonstrate both character and talent are selected to receive scholarships every year for six years throughout middle and high school. If they are selected as national representatives and achieve outstanding results during this period, additional scholarships are awarded.
