Meaningful Technological Competitiveness Achieved with the First Localization
of High-Reliability Cables in the Smart Factory Era
LS Cable has successfully developed a high-flex industrial USB cable capable of withstanding repetitive movements. This achievement is considered a significant milestone in the localization of technology amid the growing adoption of industrial automation.
On July 14, LS Cable announced the launch of its high-flex industrial USB cable. The new product features high durability, operating without disconnection or performance degradation even after being bent more than one million times, along with high-speed data transmission capabilities. Its lifespan is more than three times longer than that of existing imported products.
LS Cable evaluated this product as a meaningful achievement in terms of localization and technological competitiveness, given the increasing demand for cables for process equipment requiring high-reliability communication. In particular, the product is expected to demonstrate excellent usability in automation facilities such as semiconductor, display, and secondary battery production lines, as well as in equipment with frequent repetitive movements, including IP cameras, CCTV, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
This product has obtained international certification from the Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) of Korea. In addition to durability, it has secured quality reliability by meeting standards in categories such as connection force, insulation and contact resistance, impact, and vibration.
The product was developed through joint collaboration between LS Cable and Gangwon Electronics. LS Cable was responsible for cable design and production, while Gangwon Electronics enhanced the product's practicality and completeness by incorporating customer feedback and market demand.
An LS Cable representative stated, "With the expansion of smart factories, demand for high-durability USB cables continues to grow," adding, "We will continue to expand high-reliability data transmission solutions tailored to smart manufacturing environments."
