Muchaengpo Beach, a representative summer tourist destination in Boryeong, South Chungcheong Province, and famous for its "Mysterious Sea Road," has officially opened for the summer season and will welcome vacationers until August 24.
According to Boryeong City on July 14, Muchaengpo Beach, which first opened on the west coast in 1928, features a 1.5-kilometer-long sandy beach and a gentle shoreline with water depths ranging from 1 to 2 meters, making it an ideal summer destination where everyone from children to seniors can safely enjoy water activities.
The pine forest and unique rock formations along the coastline blend with the open sea view, making the beach a renowned healing spot where visitors can enjoy both swimming and forest bathing at the same time.
The "Mysterious Sea Road" phenomenon, which attracts countless tourists every year, is a spectacular event where, at low tide, a path opens from Muchaengpo to Dakbyeoseul Island. This has become a must-try experience course for summer visitors.
This year, Muchaengpo Beach is operating the "Wodigadi Water Playground" so that everyone from children to adults can enjoy together.
With various play facilities such as water slides and pedal boats, the beach has transformed into a family-friendly water paradise where the whole family can have fun together during the hot summer.
Nearby, there are a variety of attractions including Muchaengpo Tower, Muchaengpo Port Fish Market, a mudflat experience center, and the Dakbyeoseul Island footbridge, ensuring that visitors are never bored during their stay.
In particular, the sunset at Muchaengpo is well known among photographers and tourists nationwide as a "must-see scene."
To create a safe and pleasant vacation environment, the city has significantly improved convenience facilities such as showers and water fountains, and has conducted lifesaving education and water training for rescue organizations and safety personnel.
Mayor Kim Dongil stated, "Muchaengpo Beach, along with Daecheon Beach, is establishing itself as a leading summer destination on the west coast," and added, "We will do our utmost to ensure that tourists visiting Muchaengpo this summer can create safe and special memories."
