Gangseo District in Seoul will hold the "2025 AI Proposal Contest" to promote administrative innovation using artificial intelligence (AI) technology and to discover resident-centered services that can be tangibly experienced by the community.

The contest will run until the 18th and is open to everyone. The themes include a wide range of administrative service ideas, such as improving administrative systems and service operations through AI, enhancing administrative efficiency, increasing convenience for residents, reducing budget expenditures, increasing revenue, improving civil complaint systems, and advancing district administration.

The submitted ideas will undergo a public vote and evaluation process, after which a total of eight proposals will be selected for awards. The grand prize winner will receive 1 million KRW, the first prize winner will receive 700,000 KRW, two excellence award winners will each receive 500,000 KRW, and four encouragement award winners will each receive 200,000 KRW. Outstanding proposals that do not receive a main award will be eligible for an additional reward of up to 100,000 KRW.

Proposals can be submitted via the Gangseo District Office website, the National Petition Portal, mail (3rd floor, Planning and Budget Division, 302 Hwagok-ro, Gangseo-gu), or fax. The results will be posted on the Gangseo District Office website in August, and individual notifications will also be provided.

Gangseo District plans to actively identify and incorporate ideas that residents can truly experience into district administration through this contest. The district has already enacted the "AI Basic Ordinance" for the first time among Seoul's autonomous districts and has implemented various AI-driven policies, including the introduction of an AI-based automatic pothole video detection system.

Jin Kyohun, Mayor of Gangseo District, emphasized, "We will create service models that can be experienced by all residents, including youth, students, and seniors," adding, "We hope for the active participation and interest of residents so that administrative innovation using AI can become a reality."
