President Lee Jaemyung has nominated Kim Yoonduk, a lawmaker from the Democratic Party of Korea, as the new candidate for Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. For the position of Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, he has selected Choi Hwiyoung, CEO of Nol Universe.

On the 11th, Kang Hoonshik, Chief of Staff to the President, held a briefing at the Presidential Office in Yongsan and announced that President Lee had nominated Representative Kim Yoonduk as the candidate for Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and CEO Choi Hwiyoung as the candidate for Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism. With these appointments, President Lee has completed the selection of ministers for all 19 ministries just 38 days after taking office. Chief of Staff Kang explained that the nominations for these two ministerial positions were delayed because "it took some time to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of several candidates."

Kim Yoonduk, nominated for Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, has served as a member of the National Assembly's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee. Chief of Staff Kang stated, "We expect him to approach real estate issues from the perspective of the people, rather than as a scholar or bureaucrat, and to present a vision in various fields such as balanced regional development, national land construction, transportation, and mobility." He emphasized, "In particular, he will actively implement the President's pragmatic philosophy of not tolerating real estate speculation that causes housing instability, while respecting market principles and protecting genuine end-users."

Regarding Choi Hwiyoung, Chief of Staff Kang introduced him as "a person with diverse experience and expertise, having worked as a journalist, an online portal executive, and a travel platform entrepreneur." He added, "Based on his private-sector expertise and innovative approach, he will become the new CEO in the fields of culture, sports, and tourism, turning the President's vision of opening the era of a 300 trillion won K-culture market into reality."

Meanwhile, Chief of Staff Kang said, "President Lee has asked everyone to join forces so that the government can respond proactively and swiftly to various pressing issues, such as economic stagnation caused by trade pressure and the summer heatwave." He added, "All members of the Lee Jaemyung administration deeply recognize their heavy responsibility and will ensure that the government is judged solely by its achievements and evaluated by its results."
