The National Assembly confirmation hearing for Kim Sanghwan, nominee for Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, is expected to be held on July 21.
According to the National Assembly on July 10, the ruling and opposition parties have reportedly reached a tentative agreement on the schedule for Kim's confirmation hearing.
The ruling and opposition parties have formed a special parliamentary committee for Kim's confirmation hearing. The committee will be chaired by Lee Jaejung of the Democratic Party of Korea, with Min Hyungbae from the Democratic Party serving as the party secretary and Jang Donghyuk from the People Power Party as the secretary for the ruling party.
The special committee is scheduled to hold its first plenary meeting on July 14, during which it will confirm the appointments of the chairperson and secretaries, and approve the agenda for Kim's confirmation hearing.
