Free Admission and Discounts at Tourist Attractions
in Sister Cities Including Sokcho, Jindo, Suncheon, and Andong
Osan City in Gyeonggi Province is offering citizens free admission and discounts to major tourist attractions in its sister cities across the country as the summer vacation season begins in earnest.
The cities with which Osan has established sisterhood ties are Sokcho in Gangwon, Yeongdong in North Chungcheong, Namwon and Jangsu in North Jeolla, Andong in North Gyeongsang, Jindo and Suncheon in South Jeolla, and Namhae in South Gyeongsang, totaling eight regions.
A representative example is Banghwadong Natural Recreation Forest in Jangsu County, North Jeolla Province. During July and August, ten rooms are reserved exclusively for Osan citizens, with a discount of 20,000 won per room on peak season and weekend rates.
Osan citizens visiting Sokcho Beach in Gangwon Province can rent water leisure items such as parasols and tubes free of charge, and receive complimentary public parking passes.
At Nogunri Peace Park in Yeongdong County, North Chungcheong Province, accommodation and rental spaces are available at a 30% discount. In Namwon, North Jeolla Province, Gwanghalluwon, Chunhyang Theme Park, Jirisan Herb Valley, and Baekdudaegan Ecological Education Center are all open free of charge. The Aerospace Observatory, Children's Science Experience Center, and Hwain-dang (Hanbok rental) can be enjoyed at half price.
In Andong, North Gyeongsang Province, admission to Hahoe Village and Dosan Seowon is available at a reduced rate. Jindo County, South Jeolla Province, is offering free admission to all major attractions, including Unrimsanbang, Sojeon Art Museum, Marine Ecology Center, Jindo Tower, and the Mysterious Sea Road Experience Center. Suncheon is also providing a 50% discount on admission to Suncheonman National Garden and Wetland, as well as Naganeupseong Folk Village.
In Namhae County, to mark the 2025 Year of Hometown Love Visits, cultural exhibition facilities such as the German Village, the Korea-Germany Exhibition Hall, the Exile Literature Museum, and the Mask Performance Museum are open free of charge.
At Cheonsuman Tourist Resort in Boryeong, South Chungcheong Province, the 'West Sea Dolkkot Pension' accommodation fee is discounted by up to 30% through an agreement with Osan City.
The city explained that citizens can receive these benefits by simply presenting their ID on site, without any additional supporting documents. For more details, inquiries can be directed to the General Affairs Team of the Autonomous Administration Division at Osan City Hall.
Lee Gwonjae, Mayor of Osan, stated, "We are now able to offer meaningful benefits to our citizens based on mutual cooperation with our sister cities," adding, "We will continue to pursue various exchanges that enhance the quality of life for our citizens."
