Mayor Dongshik Park of Sacheon, South Gyeongsang Province, became the "Bluebird" that brings victory to the NC Dinos.
On July 10, Sacheon City announced that Mayor Park took the mound as the ceremonial first pitcher at the KBO League game between the NC Dinos and the Samsung Lions at Changwon NC Park, promoting the city of Sacheon.
During the event, Mayor Park stood on the mound and threw the ceremonial first pitch, taking the opportunity to widely promote Sacheon's aerospace industry, tourism resources, and cultural events.
In particular, before the first pitch, Mayor Park received direct pitching coaching from NC's right-handed pitcher Kim Taehun, known for his powerful four-seam fastball reaching up to 153 km/h and his slider. This scene was displayed on the stadium's big screen, drawing significant attention from the crowd.
Sacheon City used the stadium's big screen and promotional booths to introduce major local attractions such as the Aerospace Theme Park, Namildae Beach, and the sunset at Silan, actively raising awareness of the city's brand among citizens and visitors.
In addition, Sacheon's tourism promotion character "Ttoa" appeared at the stadium, hosting a photo zone, giving out souvenirs, and holding interactive events with young fans, which received an enthusiastic response.
"Ttoa," an aspiring astronaut and the son of Sacheon's main character Ttoroki, captivated young spectators with his cute and lively performances. Ttoa embodies the image of Sacheon as "the aerospace capital of Korea" and "the center of cutting-edge aerospace industry."
With Mayor Park's ceremonial first pitch, the NC Dinos reversed the momentum, coming from behind after trailing until the fifth inning to secure a dramatic victory over the Samsung Lions, extending their winning streak to two games. The entire stadium was filled with excitement, and Mayor Park shared the joy of victory amid passionate support from players and fans.
Mayor Park stated, "It was a very meaningful opportunity to showcase Sacheon's industrial and tourism competitiveness to many baseball fans," adding, "We will continue to do our best to promote the city's brand through sports marketing."
Meanwhile, Sacheon City has entered into a sponsorship agreement with NC, promoting the city through LED displays behind home plate and the main scoreboard at the stadium. This sponsorship is a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing Sacheon's city brand and strengthening NC Dinos' regional marketing, with both sides seeking mutual growth through cultural content.
