"No Violations of Educational Neutrality Found"
A total of 159 instructors affiliated with the conservative-leaning education organization Reebak School have been confirmed to have taught at 298 schools.
On July 10, the Ministry of Education announced the results of the "Second Comprehensive Survey on Instructors Related to Reebak School," conducted jointly with local education offices.
In the first survey, 43 instructors associated with Reebak School were found to be teaching at 57 schools nationwide. However, in this second survey, an additional 116 instructors were identified, bringing the total number of schools to 241 more.
Organizations related to Neulbom School now total 11, up from the previously identified 6. The Ministry of Education defined instructors related to Reebak School as follows: instructors directly contracted by schools with any of the 11 organizations and dispatched by those organizations; instructors who have completed training at any of the 11 organizations; and instructors holding private certifications issued by three organizations?Korea Education Consulting Institute, Glory Social Cooperative, and Life and Science Education Research Association.
The Ministry of Education stated that, as in the first survey, most instructors related to Reebak School were involved in science and arts programs in the second survey as well.
There have been concerns that these instructors could instill biased historical education in students. However, the survey found that they did not teach history classes.
The Ministry of Education plans to conduct additional on-site inspections at the 241 schools identified in the second survey.
The Ministry of Education stated, "We conducted on-site inspections at the 57 schools where instructors identified in the first survey were teaching, but so far, no violations of educational neutrality have been found. We will continue monitoring through parent surveys and the reporting center."
