Participation in Ilex Vietnam from July 16 to 18
Showcasing Next-Generation Power Management Systems
Expanding Local Production Capacity to $40 Million
LS Electric is accelerating its efforts to penetrate the ASEAN market, where power demand is rapidly increasing due to expanded investments in global big tech data centers and policies to strengthen the manufacturing sector.
LS Electric will participate in "Ilex Vietnam 2025," which will be held at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from July 16 to 18.
LS Electric will operate the largest exhibition space among participating companies, with 16 booths (144 square meters), under the theme "The Future Energy World of Vietnam Created by LS Electric." The exhibition will feature four zones: smart power management, carbon neutrality (RE100), digital transformation (DX), and smart factories.
LS Electric plans to showcase next-generation power management systems that integrate "smart distribution solutions" and "smart ultra-high voltage transformers," as well as locally customized strategic products such as energy storage systems (ESS). The company aims to highlight its world-class power solution technologies and supply capabilities.
The next-generation ESS platform from LS Electric is a proprietary product developed based on the company's manufacturing expertise in power electronics-based industrial drives (inverters) that reduce energy consumption through core technologies in power conversion and motor control speed. In particular, the platform modularizes the core power conversion component, PEBB (Power Electronics Building Block), in 200kW units, enabling smart independent operation.
Additionally, LS Electric will exhibit customer-tailored IoT digital technology-based energy optimization solutions, including the digital twin smart factory platform "SMI (Smart Management Insight)," asset management system (AMS), energy efficiency management platform "Gridsol Cube," and integrated power facility management platform "Gridsol Care."
The company will also unveil the "LS SHE (Safety·Health·Environment) with AI," a smart safety control platform customized for manufacturing sites in Vietnam. "SHE with AI" is an AI-based safety control solution that can integrate and analyze various smart safety devices and CCTV in real time.
LS Electric's strategy is to accelerate its expansion into the ASEAN power infrastructure market, with Vietnam and Indonesia as key bases. Since becoming the first Korean power company to enter Vietnam in the mid-1990s, LS Electric has maintained the number one position in the low-voltage power equipment market with a market share exceeding 40% since 2013.
In 2023, LS Electric significantly expanded its local production capacity by relocating to the new "Bac Ninh Plant" in the Yen Phong Industrial Complex in Bac Ninh Province, increasing annual production from $25 million to $40 million. The company also acquired Indonesian power equipment company "Simpors," adding high-end products such as ultra-high voltage GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) to its portfolio and diversifying its business structure across the entire power system industry.
In April 2025, the Vietnamese government revised its 8th Power Development Plan (PDP8), raising targets for renewable energy generation such as solar and offshore wind, and initiating policies to build smart grids to improve the efficiency and stability of the power grid.
At the same time, global big tech companies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google, and Microsoft have announced plans to invest more than $10 billion in data centers across the ASEAN region. As manufacturing expands and AI data centers are built, power infrastructure investments in ASEAN countries are increasing. The average annual power investment in ASEAN is expected to grow from $56 billion (about 76 trillion won) in 2025 to $200 billion (about 273 trillion won) by 2030.
An LS Electric representative said, "We expect to further solidify our position as the number one company in Vietnam, which has grown into one of the top three power markets for Korea, and to firmly establish our business capabilities among ASEAN customers." The representative added, "With bold investments in local power system businesses and a focus on high-end strategic products such as transformers and ESS, we will accelerate our expansion in the ASEAN market, which is emerging as a global data center hub."
