Gyeonggi Province Recruiting 50 SMEs to Participate in October's "World Korean Business Convention" in Incheon

Gyeonggi Province is recruiting 50 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from the province to participate in the 29th World Korean Business Convention until July 21.

Gyeonggi Province plans to set up a "Gyeonggi Pavilion" at the export exhibition of the World Korean Business Convention, which will be held in October, and will actively support local companies with export capabilities in developing overseas markets and expanding exports.

The World Korean Business Convention is a global economic event co-hosted by Incheon Metropolitan City and the Overseas Korean Traders Association (OKTA), with support from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, KOTRA, and the Overseas Koreans Agency.

This year, the event will take place over four days from October 27 to 30 at Songdo Convensia in Incheon. The export exhibition will be held for two days, from October 28 to 29, and will be attended by more than 6,000 OKTA members and buyers from 70 countries around the world.

Eligible applicants are manufacturing SMEs headquartered or with factories in the province whose export amount in the previous year was less than 20 million dollars. Selected companies will receive support for booth rental and setup costs worth 3 million won. Mandatory marketing training and performance management consulting will also be provided prior to participation.

To maximize the exhibition's effectiveness for participating companies, Gyeonggi Province will organize one-on-one export consultations with OKTA members and invited buyers. Prior to the exhibition, customized pre-arranged meetings for interested items will be facilitated. In addition, dedicated interpreters will be provided if interpretation is needed during consultations.

Park Kyungseo, Director of International Trade at Gyeonggi Province, said, "This exhibition, where Korean businesspeople from around the world and domestic companies gather in one place, will be a great opportunity for local companies seeking new export channels. Gyeonggi Province will continue to focus on strengthening global competitiveness through customized overseas marketing tailored to corporate needs."
