On July 9 at 5:30 p.m., Uijeongbu City (Mayor Kim Donggeun) announced that it will hold the 'Jangam Island Castle Waterpark Reopening Ceremony' at the indoor waterpark located on the first basement level of Jangam Island Castle.

This event is intended to announce the resumption of the waterpark's operations and has been organized as a warm occasion for sharing and unity with the local community.

The event will be attended by citizens, Mayor Kim Donggeun, members of the provincial council, the CEO of Upperstreetment, and local figures. The main program includes a welcoming address and congratulatory remarks, a ribbon-cutting ceremony and commemorative photo session, a tour of the facilities, and a ceremony to present waterpark admission tickets to underprivileged groups.

In particular, 1,000 waterpark admission tickets, each worth 70,000 won, will be distributed to underprivileged groups through the Uijeongbu City Community Security Council, highlighting the fulfillment of corporate social responsibility by private companies.

Jangam Island Castle is a large-scale, multi-purpose leisure facility equipped with both indoor and outdoor waterparks, hot springs, and bade pools, among various other amenities. It is designed to accommodate families, groups, and tourists conveniently. With excellent accessibility from northern areas of the Seoul metropolitan region, it has been recognized as a year-round leisure destination. With this reopening, it is expected to once again become a central hub for revitalizing local tourism.

Mayor Kim Donggeun stated, "I hope that Jangam Island Castle Waterpark will become an oasis of relaxation in the city and continue to be a safe and pleasant resort facility where citizens can enjoy themselves with peace of mind." He added, "We will continue to work together with the private sector to create a variety of leisure and cultural spaces that enhance the quality of life for our citizens."
