Gyeonggi Province will hold a "Human Rights Roundtable" on July 14 at the seminar room on the third floor of the Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation headquarters in Gwanggyo, Suwon, to gather residents' opinions ahead of establishing the "3rd Gyeonggi Province Basic Plan for the Guarantee and Promotion of Human Rights (2026-2030)."
This in-person discussion is an effort to expand opportunities for direct communication and empathy with residents.
Previously, during the process of formulating the 3rd Basic Human Rights Plan, Gyeonggi Province conducted a telephone survey of 2,000 residents and held in-depth interviews with 124 individuals, including women, seniors, people with disabilities, and migrants.
In addition, to hear vivid voices from the field, the province is conducting human rights awareness surveys and in-depth interviews with facility workers and users across 13 sectors, including women, seniors, people with disabilities, and migrants.
Furthermore, at the end of September, a public hearing will be held to collect opinions from all walks of life. Through these efforts, the province plans to create a human rights administration that residents can genuinely experience and participate in.
Choi Hyunjung, Gyeonggi Province's Human Rights Officer, stated, "The 3rd Basic Human Rights Plan will serve as a roadmap for Gyeonggi Province's human rights administration over the next five years, from 2026 to 2030," and added, "We will strive to ensure maximum resident participation and identify diverse needs throughout the planning process, presenting a vision for the promotion of residents' human rights."
