[Tomorrow's Weather] Continued Heatwave... Seoul Daytime High Reaches 36 Degrees Yonhap News Agency

On Wednesday, July 9, the maximum perceived temperature is expected to reach around 35 degrees Celsius, especially in western regions and inland areas, indicating intense heat.


According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, most parts of the country are expected to be mostly clear on July 9, while Jeju Island will see more clouds. Sweltering heat will continue, with daytime high temperatures reaching up to 36 degrees Celsius. For the time being, most regions nationwide will experience maximum perceived temperatures of around 35 degrees Celsius, resulting in particularly hot weather.


The Korea Meteorological Administration has warned of a high risk of heat-related illnesses and advised people to refrain from outdoor activities and going out. It also emphasized the importance of thoroughly managing food to prevent food poisoning.


The forecasted minimum temperatures for major cities are as follows: Seoul 27 degrees, Incheon 26 degrees, Chuncheon 23 degrees, Gangneung 23 degrees, Daejeon 24 degrees, Daegu 23 degrees, Jeonju 25 degrees, Gwangju 25 degrees, Busan 24 degrees, and Jeju 25 degrees. The forecasted maximum temperatures are: Seoul 36 degrees, Incheon 34 degrees, Chuncheon 34 degrees, Gangneung 28 degrees, Daejeon 35 degrees, Daegu 32 degrees, Jeonju 35 degrees, Gwangju 36 degrees, Busan 30 degrees, and Jeju 31 degrees.


For the time being, some areas in the western regions and Jeju Island may also experience tropical nights.


In the afternoon, showers are expected in Jeju Island; in the late afternoon, in the Incheon and Gyeonggi West Coast areas; and at night, in the southern East Coast of North Gyeongsang Province. The expected precipitation is 5 to 20 millimeters for the Incheon and Gyeonggi West Coast and the southern East Coast of North Gyeongsang Province, and 5 to 40 millimeters for Jeju Island.


Waves in the sea are expected to be 0.5 to 1.5 meters high in the coastal waters of the East Sea and South Sea, and 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the coastal waters of the West Sea. In the offshore areas (within about 200 kilometers from the coastline), wave heights are forecast at 0.5 to 1.5 meters for the East Sea, 0.5 to 2.0 meters for the West Sea, and 1.0 to 2.5 meters for the South Sea.
