As the so-called 'bread pilgrimage,' where mostly young people seek out famous bakeries, continues to gain popularity, this trend is also becoming prominent in map searches. The proportion of bakeries among the top popular restaurants nationwide has noticeably increased.
Visitors eager to buy bread are lining up in front of Seongsimdang main store, a representative attraction of Daejeon.
On July 8, T map Mobility announced that, based on an analysis of driving data during the summer vacation period (July to August) over the past three years, the number of bakeries among popular restaurants increased from just one in 2022 to four last year.
By store, Seongsimdang, a leading bakery in Daejeon, ranked first for two consecutive years since 2023, while the main store of Leesungdang in Gunsan has remained in the top 10 for three consecutive years. Tujuru Bread Stone Kiln branch in Cheonan also entered the rankings for the first time last year, placing eighth.
T map also reported that the new trending 'taste of summer' among users is grilled fish cooked in a wood-fired oven. Sanurogan Godeungeo in Yongin ranked ninth among popular restaurants nationwide based on search data.
Popular restaurants in the Gangwon region, such as Sokcho Cheongchosumulhoe, Gangneung Donghwa Garden, and Chuncheon Tongnamujip Dakgalbi, have also remained in the top ranks for three consecutive years, establishing themselves as must-visit summer vacation dining spots. Jangeoui Kkum in Namyangju, which serves eel dishes, a representative summer health food, has also been listed among the top restaurants for three consecutive years.
