Enhancing Competitiveness of Nonsan Agricultural Products with New Certification Mark
Building Nationwide Trust
Nonsan City in South Chungcheong Province announced on July 8 that it has completely revamped the "Nonsan Local Food Certification Mark" to further enhance consumer trust in local agricultural products.
The city began applying the new certification mark on June 20, 2025, following revisions to relevant laws, and is expanding its use to local farms and the entire direct transaction market.
The new design visually represents the freshness, safety, and eco-friendly values of Nonsan's agricultural products.
The "Nonsan Local Food Certification System" was first introduced in 2020 and has been in operation for five years, establishing itself among consumers nationwide as a mark of "trustworthy agricultural products." To date, 160 items from 356 farms have received certification.
Nonsan Local Food only allows the use of agricultural products that have passed mandatory training for farmers, as well as residue pesticide testing and verification of safety and quality across 463 items.
A city official stated, "This change in the certification mark is a strategic measure to further raise the brand awareness of Nonsan's agricultural products," adding, "We will continue to strengthen the operation of the certification system and work to ensure that Nonsan Local Food is recognized nationwide as a source of safe food."
