"Unable to Work Due to Verbal Abuse by Some Building Representatives"
Complaints Filed with Local Government via National Petition Portal
Recently, all staff members of the management office at an apartment complex in Ulsan resigned en masse.
On July 6, a photo of a notice titled "Resignation of All Management Office Staff" posted in the elevator of a certain apartment in Ulsan was shared on online communities. The notice, written on behalf of all management office staff, stated, "Due to the following repeated and structural problems caused by some building representatives, we have determined that it is no longer possible to perform our duties properly, and therefore, all management office staff have been compelled to resign."

They listed the specific issues as follows: unreasonable shifting of responsibility and verbal abuse; insulting remarks and threatening displays; unreasonable work orders; improper interference in staff recruitment; ignoring resident complaints and evading responsibility; statements suspected of defamation and undermining trust in management office staff; unilateral decisions that disregard labor contracts and budgets; excessive work orders and repeated demands for reports; and infringement on the personal autonomy of staff vacation schedules, which is a right of the employees.
There are nine employees working at this apartment's management office, and it is reported that all of them have submitted their resignations. The staff plan to work until the end of this month, after which they will hand over their duties and then resign. According to Yonhap News, the employees have also filed complaints through the National Petition Portal to the relevant local government, Buk-gu District Office, and the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
The apartment residents' representative council stated that, as the specific facts have not yet been confirmed, they will respond after the results of the local government's investigation are released. Through a notice posted in the apartment elevator, the residents' representative council asked residents to refrain from making speculative judgments or spreading rumors in chat rooms, emphasizing that, by law, Buk-gu District Office will investigate the facts and refer the case to the authorities if necessary. The council added, "We will promptly respond after thoroughly reviewing any breaches of contract by the property management company," and stated, "We will strive to carry out tasks that provide real benefits to residents and to mediate conflicts."
