Implemented for Tourists and Citizens During the Summer Vacation Season
Suncheon City in South Jeolla Province (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) has launched a special 7% discount sale of the Suncheon Sarang Gift Certificate to boost the local economy during the summer vacation season.
On July 7, Suncheon City announced that it will sell the Suncheon Sarang Gift Certificate at a 7% discount for one month until July 31. This discount follows the 15% special discount in January and February aimed at revitalizing the local economy, and the 10% discount in May for Family Month. The current initiative is intended to promote spending during the summer peak season and to increase sales for small business owners.
The Suncheon Sarang Gift Certificate is issued in both paper and mobile formats (card and QR). The paper certificates can be purchased at 47 branches of five local financial institutions, including Nonghyup Bank, Suncheon Nonghyup, Livestock Cooperative, Won Cooperative, and Nak Cooperative. The mobile version can be recharged through the 'Local Gift Certificate chak' application.
The monthly purchase limit per individual is up to 500,000 won combined for both paper and mobile types, with a maximum of 300,000 won for the paper certificates. The gift certificates can be used at over 14,000 affiliated stores within the city, including restaurants, supermarkets, and traditional markets. The list of affiliated stores can be found on the 'Local Gift Certificate chak' app and the Suncheon City Hall website.
A city official stated, "We hope this special discount will be of some help to tourists and citizens visiting Suncheon during the summer vacation season," adding, "We also expect it to serve as a catalyst for revitalizing the local economy."
