Book Concert and VR Experience to Train Over 600 Practitioners for Industrial Safety and Health Month
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) is launching a culture-based educational program aimed at enhancing the on-site sensitivity and practical awareness of industrial safety and health practitioners.
A key feature of the initiative is the introduction of book concert-style content, making it easier for school community members to engage with safety topics.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will host the "Safer Concert 2025" at 2:30 p.m. on July 8 in the main auditorium of the Busan Student Education and Culture Center, targeting approximately 600 participants, including public school industrial safety and health practitioners.
This event was planned to mark July as Industrial Safety and Health Month and to promote the establishment of a safety culture and a commitment to action at schools. Instead of simple theory-based lectures, the program adopts a "book concert" format to foster greater empathy among participants.
The concert will be based on the book "Safety Barrel" written by Lee Youngju, Deputy Director of the Busan Regional Headquarters of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency. Through his lecture, Lee will highlight the issue of safety insensitivity in Korea and introduce the "Three Absolute Principles of Safety," which anyone can put into practice.
In addition to the book concert, the event venue will feature supplementary programs to further raise safety awareness. Award-winning entries from the "Near Miss Discovery Contest" held in May, along with safety products for prize-giving, will be on display. There will also be a VR experience booth where participants can indirectly experience real accident scenarios such as falls.
Superintendent Kim Seokjun stated, "This event will serve as an opportunity to raise sensitivity and encourage participation in safety among all members of the educational community," adding, "We will continue to expand hands-on programs to ensure that a culture of safety takes root in schools."
