The special prosecutor team led by Eunseok Cho, which is investigating the insurrection and treason cases related to the 12·3 Martial Law, will summon and question Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs and Education Minister Juho Lee, as well as former Chief of Security for the President Jongjun Park, on the afternoon of July 4.

According to the legal community on July 4, the special prosecutor notified Deputy Prime Minister Lee and former Chief Park to appear at the special prosecutor's office located in the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office that afternoon.

The special prosecutor plans to question Deputy Prime Minister Lee regarding the circumstances of the Cabinet meeting before and after the declaration of martial law. Deputy Prime Minister Lee did not attend the Cabinet meeting held prior to the martial law declaration on December 3 of last year, as he did not receive a notification to attend. The special prosecutor is investigating whether Cabinet members who did not receive a notification were deprived of their authority to deliberate on the declaration of martial law, given that former President Seokyeol Yoon summoned only certain Cabinet members to meet the quorum of 11 for the Cabinet meeting held immediately before the martial law was declared.

Regarding former Chief Park, the special prosecutor plans to investigate allegations that former President Yoon mobilized the security office to obstruct the execution of an arrest warrant by the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials. The special prosecutor also intends to question him about the circumstances under which information from the secure phones of former First Deputy Director of the National Intelligence Service Jangwon Hong and others was deleted following the martial law incident.
