25 Dining Startup Students Receive On-Site Training at Pohang Restaurant... Joint Program by Daegu City and Yeungjin College

The "Dining Startup Keywordream Academy," jointly operated by Daegu City and Yeungjin College (President Choi Jaeyoung), conducted on-site training in Pohang as part of its practical dining startup education program.


On July 3, the Hygiene Policy Division of Daegu City and the Department of Hotel, Airline, and Tourism at Yeungjin College held on-site training for 25 students of the 11th class of the "Dining Startup Keywordream Academy" at a sashimi specialty restaurant in Yeongildae, Pohang City. The training utilized seafood-focused dining establishments as case studies.

The training was designed to allow aspiring restaurant entrepreneurs to visit actual businesses and experience practical aspects such as item development, business operations, and ingredient sourcing. Participants toured representative seafood restaurants in Pohang, examining key startup elements such as menu composition, kitchen workflow, hygiene management, and raw material supply chains, guided by expert explanations.


Lee Jaehun, a professor in charge of the academy from the Department of Hotel, Airline, and Tourism at Yeungjin College, stated, "We designed the program to go beyond simple theoretical education, providing aspiring entrepreneurs with opportunities to experience real startup environments so they can prepare more realistically and concretely."


The 11th class of the "Dining Startup Keywordream Academy," which began on May 9, 2025, is currently running its approximately two-month course through July 11. This program, a collaboration between Daegu City and Yeungjin College, combines theory and practice for citizens preparing to start a restaurant business, with the goal of strengthening practical entrepreneurial capabilities.


The Department of Hotel, Airline, and Tourism at Yeungjin College operates a variety of industry-academic cooperation and practice-oriented curricula to foster skilled professionals in the food service industry.


Meanwhile, Daegu City and Yeungjin College plan to launch the 12th class of the "Dining Startup Keywordream Academy" on August 14, 2025, and are recruiting students throughout July for aspiring and early-stage entrepreneurs.
