Eleven Beaches Including Namyeol Sunrise Beach
Busy with Safety Personnel Training and Facility Inspections
Goheung County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Gong Youngmin) is thoroughly preparing to open its beaches, including Namyeol Sunrise Beach in Namyeol-ri, to welcome summer vacationers.
The county plans to simultaneously open all 11 beaches within its jurisdiction on July 18. To ensure the safety of tourists visiting the beaches, 53 water safety personnel have been selected, and on July 9, training will be conducted at the Song Soonseop Hall of the Goheung Culture Center. The training will cover accident response guidelines and methods for handling emergencies involving beachgoers.
Additionally, the county is conducting intensive inspections of facilities such as restrooms, showers, and drinking fountains to ensure vacationers can use them conveniently, and is repairing any facilities found to be inadequate.
A county official stated, "With the onset of intense heat, we expect many visitors to our county's beaches. We will strengthen safety inspections of facilities at all 11 locations before the beaches open and do our utmost to ensure visitor safety, so that not a single accident occurs."
Meanwhile, Namyeol Sunrise Beach, the premier resort on the southern coast, features a pine forest that offers a comfortable resting place and the Space Launch Observatory, which provides views of the Dadohae's scenic landscape. Yongdong and Pungnyu Beaches are also equipped with various amenities such as beautiful coastal scenery unique to Goheung, campgrounds, and small parks, making them highly popular among tourists.
