Korea Meteorological Administration Announces End of Rainy Season in Jeju and Southern Regions... Central Region 'Not Yet'

The Korea Meteorological Administration announced on July 3 that the rainy season has ended in Jeju Island and the southern regions, as the North Pacific high-pressure system has pushed the stationary front northwestward.

During a regular briefing on this day, the Korea Meteorological Administration stated that the rainy season has ended in Jeju Island as of June 26 and in the southern regions as of July 1, as both areas have moved out of the influence of the stationary front.

However, the agency explained that there is still uncertainty regarding the end of the rainy season in the central region, as there remains a possibility of temporary influence from the stationary front passing through North Korea.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said, "As cold air from the north temporarily moves southward, the stationary front may affect the central region, bringing rain to the area from July 4 and from the night of July 6 to July 7. However, since this is due to a weak stationary front within the North Pacific high-pressure system, the amount of rainfall is not expected to be significant."
