The Seventh Residents' Briefing Session

The Daejeon-Chungnam Administrative Integration Public-Private Council held residents' briefing sessions on the 2nd at the Goma Convention Hall of Gongju Art Center and the Citizen Hall of Asan City Hall.
This briefing session was organized for the seventh time, following previous events in Hongseong, Yesan, Cheonan, and other locations, to share the necessity of the Daejeon-Chungnam administrative integration with local residents and to build consensus.
Each session was attended by approximately 500 people, including Gongju Mayor Choi Woncheol, Asan Deputy Mayor Kim Beomsu, provincial council members Ko Gwangcheol, Ko Gwangcheol, Park Kiyoung, Ahn Jangheon, Park Jeongsik, Ji Mingyu, Oh Anyoung, Cho Cheolgi, Lee Jiyun, chairs and members of each city council, local residents, and public officials.
The briefing session began with a report on the progress of the Daejeon-Chungnam administrative integration by Ko Seunghee, head of the Social Integration Research Office at the Chungnam Institute, followed by a talk concert on topics such as the necessity and expected effects of administrative integration and public discussion plans to gain residents' consent.
The talk concert featured Chairman Jeong Jaekeun, Shin Youngho, chairman of the Special Committee on Daejeon-Chungnam Administrative Integration of the Provincial Council (provincial council member), and local leaders, who presented a variety of opinions. After the talk concert, there was also a Q&A session with residents.
Chairman Jeong Jaekeun stated, "If Daejeon-Chungnam Special City is established, it will give momentum to ongoing projects in Gongju and Asan, create a 60-minute living zone through the construction of a metropolitan transportation network, and significantly improve residents' quality of life."
The city and county residents' briefing sessions will continue, visiting all 15 cities and counties in the province sequentially until August 8.
