Dong-A University (President Lee Haewoo) and the Software Innovation Center (Director Professor Lee Seokhwan) have joined forces with the Saha District Office of Busan to cultivate software specialists and conduct joint research to address local issues.
On July 3, Dong-A University announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding between the Software Innovation Center and the Saha District Office. The two parties agreed to cooperate in various fields, including strengthening software education capabilities, jointly developing technology to solve local issues, sharing resources and validating prototypes, and managing outcomes.
This agreement is drawing attention as a practical industry-academia cooperation model that goes beyond simple technology exchange, enabling student-led software projects to contribute directly to solving community problems.
Software and systems developed by Dong-A University students may be connected to the Saha District Office in the future, with the potential to be utilized in local administration and expanded as services for district residents.
Lee Haewoo, President of Dong-A University, stated, "This agreement is an excellent collaboration model that combines the university's research capabilities with the administrative capabilities of the local government," adding, "It will also provide students with valuable opportunities to gain hands-on experience in solving local issues."
Dong-A University is the lead institution for the "Software-Centered University Project" supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP), and continues to promote practical software education and community-focused projects.
