"First Steps in Public Service" ... Changwon Special City Holds Orientation for New Public Officials

Customized Training Provided to Support Adaptation to Public Service

On July 2, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the 'Second Half New Public Officials Orientation' for 39 newly appointed public officials this year, aiming to help them adapt to public service life.

This orientation was systematically organized to both increase understanding of Changwon City through briefings on the current status of city administration, guidance on training programs, and the introduction of welfare programs, and to help new officials adapt smoothly. In addition, it aimed to strengthen their sense of responsibility as public servants through essential job training and education on integrity and security.

In particular, a professional instructor was invited to emphasize the importance of stress management for public officials and to introduce various psychological stability techniques that can be practiced in daily life. This provided MZ generation public officials with an opportunity to learn ways to perform their duties in a healthy state.

The new public officials expressed high satisfaction, saying, "Through this orientation, I was able to feel a sense of belonging and mission at the starting point of my career as a public servant, realizing that I will become a key contributor to Changwon Special City in the future. It was also a meaningful time to experience the importance of teamwork by solving problems with colleagues through team-building programs."

Jung Sooki, Director of the Autonomous Administration Bureau, stated, "This orientation goes beyond simple training and will serve as a solid foundation for new public officials to grow with pride as members of Changwon City. We will continue to support new officials so that they can quickly adapt to public service and demonstrate their capabilities."

Meanwhile, the new employee orientation program began in 2024. In the first half of this year, it was conducted for 68 participants, and it is planned to be held regularly in the future.
