On July 2, Gwangju City in Gyeonggi Province held an opening ceremony in Hakdong-ri, Chowol-eup to commemorate the completion of the long-awaited road expansion project between Hadongmak and Sangdongmak (Local Road No. 204, Phase 2).
Participants including Bang Sehwan, Mayor of Gwangju, held an opening ceremony on the 2nd in Hakdong-ri, Chowol-eup to commemorate the completion of the long-awaited road expansion project between Hadongmak and Sangdongmak (Local Road No. 204, Phase 2). Provided by Gyeonggi Gwangju City
The event was attended by Mayor Bang Sehwan, city council members, officials from related organizations, and local residents, all of whom celebrated the road opening and wished for the creation of a safe traffic environment.
This project involved a total length of 590 meters and a width of 8.5 meters, with a project cost of approximately 7.8 billion won.
In particular, the Hakdong-ri area previously had narrow lanes, making it difficult for vehicles to pass each other and increasing the risk of traffic accidents, which had caused ongoing inconvenience for residents. Therefore, this road expansion project was considered urgently necessary to ensure the safety of residents and smooth vehicle flow. In fact, after the road was widened, traffic flow improved and travel safety increased, resulting in a very positive response among residents.
Mayor Bang Sehwan stated, "I hope that the opening of this road will improve the quality of life for local residents and make a positive contribution to revitalizing the local economy." He added, "We will continue to focus on expanding systematic and effective road infrastructure to further improve transportation facilities that citizens can truly experience."
