2025 Pocheon Hantan River Drone Video Contest to Be Held
Showcasing the Beauty of the Hantan River, a UNESCO Global Geopark, Through Creative Drone Footage
Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province will host the '2025 Pocheon Hantan River Drone Video Contest'.
This contest aims to widely promote the value of the Hantan River, which has been designated as a UNESCO Global Geopark. It is also intended to serve as promotional content to build anticipation for the 'Pocheon Hantan River World Drone Festival' scheduled for October.
The contest theme is 'The Hantan River of Pocheon Captured Through the Eyes of a Drone'. The competition seeks creative and visually striking drone videos that showcase the river's breathtaking natural scenery and unique geological formations.
Anyone in Korea is eligible to participate, either individually or as part of a team (up to three members). Entries will be accepted via email from July 7 to August 29.
The contest is limited to the video category, which is divided into two sections based on video length: a 100-second video section and a 30-second short-form section. All videos must be filmed between January 1, 2025, and August 29, 2025. Each individual or team may submit only one entry.
Judging will take place in two stages: a first-round evaluation by a panel of experts in September, followed by a second-round evaluation based on view counts after the videos are released on the city's official YouTube channel.
The total prize pool is 10 million won. The winning entries will be screened at the 'Pocheon Hantan River World Drone Festival' in October. In addition, the videos will be used across various digital platforms, including Pocheon City Hall's official YouTube channel, social media, and tourism promotional materials.
A Pocheon City official stated, "The Hantan River is a geologically significant site recognized worldwide and is one of Pocheon's leading tourist attractions. We hope this contest will shed new light on the region's beauty from the unique perspective of drones and inspire more people to take an interest in the Pocheon Hantan River."
