Eight Students from Chonnam National University and Four from Chosun University Participate
Gwangju Shinsegae Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Donghoon) announced on July 1 that it had conducted the '2025 Summer University Student On-site Internship' training as part of its local talent development project.
Gwangju Shinsegae plans to provide field-oriented training so that the on-site internship goes beyond simple work experience and offers practical assistance for employment.

This on-site internship program includes 12 third- and fourth-year students from Chonnam National University and Chosun University (8 from Chonnam National University and 4 from Chosun University).
The participating students plan to enhance their practical experience and overall understanding of the distribution industry through four weeks of on-site training in various departments, including sales, until July 25.
During the first week, students will have a job exploration session where they meet with practitioners in fields such as sales, listen to explanations about their work, and resolve any questions they may have. In the second week, they will accompany staff at customer contact points to experience actual job duties.
In the third week, students will directly produce online content as part of marketing practice and participate in social contribution activities. In the final fourth week, they will take part in mock interviews and receive employment coaching from seniors, gaining know-how for real interviews.
The on-site internship program, which Gwangju Shinsegae began in 2023 as a local corporation to support youth employment in the region, is now in its fifth year. A total of 41 university students from the Gwangju area have participated so far. Participating students earn academic credits and receive an internship stipend for the four-week program.
Lee Donghoon, CEO of Gwangju Shinsegae, said, "On-site internships are a very special opportunity to ask seniors about things you've always been curious about, so I hope you learn a lot," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that this training becomes a valuable opportunity for local university students who dream of a future in the distribution industry."
