The Special Prosecutor's team for Internal Affairs, led by Cho Eunseok, which is investigating the 12·3 Martial Law-related insurrection and treason case, has decided not to accept former President Yoon Seokyoul's request to change the scheduled date.

On June 30, Special Prosecutor Park Jiyoung stated during a briefing, "At around 4 p.m., we received a request from former President Yoon to change the date of his appearance," adding, "After internal discussions, we decided not to accept the request and have notified his legal counsel accordingly."

Previously, former President Yoon's team had requested the special prosecutor's office to postpone the second summons for questioning from July 1 to a date after July 3. The special prosecutor's office had summoned former President Yoon as a suspect on June 28 and, after the initial questioning, requested that he appear again at 9 a.m. on July 1 for further investigation.

Regarding this, Special Prosecutor Park stated, "If he fails to appear tomorrow, we will immediately designate a specific date and time within this week and notify him of a rescheduled summons," adding, "If he still does not comply at that time, we will take the final measures stipulated by the Criminal Procedure Act."

She also warned, "Even after his appearance, if there are any actions deemed to obstruct the investigation in violation of the law or social norms, we will take actions as prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Act."
