This event was organized to inject vitality into the stagnant local economy and to foster a sense of community among local residents.
The team-building event began with a visit to Wondang Traditional Market. Mayor Lee and the staff held a shopping event using traditional market gift certificates in order to boost morale and unity among public officials.
This initiative was proposed by Mayor Lee to establish a model role for public officials by supporting local merchants who are facing economic challenges due to recent price increases, and by promoting mutual growth with the local business community.
On this day, Mayor Lee greeted merchants at Wondang Market and urged them to take care of their health during the hot summer season.
After the shopping event, a sports activity was held with the staff, followed by a time of communication where they shared food purchased at the traditional market.
Mayor Lee stated, "I hope today's team-building event will not only boost morale and strengthen unity among our staff, but also provide some support to local small business owners who are facing difficulties," and added, "I will continue to strive to fulfill my role as a public official who serves citizens and seeks mutual growth with the local community."
