The College of Engineering at Dong-A University held a development fund donation ceremony on June 26 at the Hall of Fame in the lobby of Engineering Building 2, receiving a total donation of 50 million won.

The event was attended by Lee Jungjae, Dean of the College of Engineering, as well as Vice Deans Ki Sunghoon and Kang Hyo, Professor Emeritus Lee Dongchun, Professors Kim Chaesu and Kim Jongmin, Park Kyungdeok, CEO of Dong-A Engineering, Ha Dongsik, CEO of Hansu Engineering, and the heads of each department of the College of Engineering.
The development fund donations consisted of 10 million won from Professor Emeritus Lee Dongchun, 10 million won from Professor Kim Chaesu, 10 million won from CEO Park Kyungdeok, 10 million won from CEO Ha Dongsik, and a joint donation of 10 million won from Professor Kim Jongmin and Jang Wonseok (family of former Dean Jang Sangmok), totaling 50 million won.
Professor Emeritus Lee Dongchun and the late former Dean Kim Heejong were inducted into the College of Engineering’s Hall of Fame. Professor Lee Dongchun previously served as Dean of the College of Engineering, Director of Academic Affairs and Research, and Dean of the Graduate School, and was also President of the Ergonomics Society of Korea. The late Kim Heejong served as the 4th and 5th Dean of the College of Engineering and made significant contributions to the university’s development.
Professor Kim Chaesu has contributed to educational administration by serving in various positions, including Director of Academic Affairs, and is set to retire in August. Professor Kim Jongmin, a graduate of Dong-A University’s Department of Chemical Engineering, joined his alma mater as a faculty member in 2005 and has been dedicated to nurturing students and research. In honor of the retirement of Professor Jang Sangmok, the 31st Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Kim Jongmin, together with graduates of the Chemical Sensor Laboratory, made a donation, with Jang Wonseok, son of former Dean Jang, also participating.
Both CEO Park Kyungdeok and CEO Ha Dongsik are alumni of Dong-A University’s Department of Civil Engineering and have continued their interest and support for the future of the College of Engineering. CEO Park leads Dong-A Engineering Co., Ltd., while CEO Ha leads Hansu Engineering and also serves as Vice President of the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Branch of the Korean Society of Civil Engineers.
Dean Lee Jungjae stated, "The donors' valuable intentions are a great source of strength as we prepare for the future, including the construction of Engineering Building 1 and the establishment of the Global Advanced Convergence Engineering Department," and added, "We will work even harder for the development of the College of Engineering, following the dedication of the senior professors who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame."
