Scheduled for July 1-4 Next Month
The Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association announced on June 30 that it will host the 4th Women Entrepreneurs Week, the largest festival and official event for the nation’s 3.26 million women entrepreneurs, from July 1 to 4.
Women Entrepreneurs Week is a legally designated week held every year during the first week of July in accordance with Article 12-3 of the Act on Support for Women-Owned Businesses. The slogan for the 4th Women Entrepreneurs Week is "Women Entrepreneurs: The Key to Tomorrow's Hope." The event aims to highlight the role and significance of women-owned businesses as a source of hope in overcoming the crises of low birth rates and sluggish growth, while also fostering pride and a sense of mission among women entrepreneurs.
The event program is divided into four main categories: ▲Market Expansion & Public Procurement ▲Communication & Policy ▲Startups & Job Creation ▲Regional Events. A total of 57 diverse programs will be held both online and offline across 19 regions nationwide, including Seoul, taking place simultaneously.
The opening ceremony on July 1 will feature awards for outstanding women entrepreneurs and will spotlight the activities and social contributions of women-owned businesses that are leading the way in job creation for women and supporting pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare. Women entrepreneurs and representatives from related organizations who are contributing to solving the low birth rate issue will be invited to share their experiences and expertise, and to strengthen collaborative systems for mutual growth.
On July 2, a "Women Entrepreneurs Policy Forum" will be held. Kim Bore, Director of the Women’s Economic Research Institute, and Kim Hyoi, CEO of Innersia, will serve as keynote speakers. Experts from various fields will gather to discuss strategies for strengthening the role of women-owned businesses in overcoming low growth and low birth rates.
The "Women CEO Luncheon Forum" will take place on July 3, with Kim Dojin, CEO of HappyMoonday, delivering a presentation on "Femtech Trends and Business Model Strategies." The forum will spotlight the rapidly growing femtech industry and share the story of HappyMoonday, which has established itself as a leading femtech company with a presence in global markets.
On July 4, the "26th Women Startup Competition Awards Ceremony" will be held. In addition to the awards for winners, the event will feature presentations on successful cases of women entrepreneurs securing investment and expanding overseas, as well as a special lecture on global investment. The event aims to provide a platform for capacity building and networking to support the growth of promising women-led startups.
The festive atmosphere will continue throughout July, even after the official week concludes. Until the end of July, a variety of events and programs will be held simultaneously across 19 regions nationwide, including the Women Entrepreneurs Conference, Excellent Products Promotion Fair, Charity Bazaar, special lectures by invited experts, and management consulting sessions. These events will be open to both women entrepreneurs and local citizens.
Park Changsuk, President of the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association, stated, "The employment rate of women workers at women-owned businesses is more than twice that of male-owned businesses, contributing to the expansion of women’s jobs and the recovery of the birth rate." She added, "Through Women Entrepreneurs Week, we hope to widely promote the economic and social value of women-owned businesses and to further expand national interest and positive perceptions of women entrepreneurs."
