Paju City Launches First Self-Reliance Enhancement Project for Small Manufacturers

Paju City in Gyeonggi Province is launching the 'Small Manufacturers Self-Reliance Enhancement Project' for the first time this year to promote the sustainable growth and strengthen the competitiveness of small manufacturers, who form the backbone of the local manufacturing industry.

The 'Small Manufacturers Self-Reliance Enhancement Project' is designed to help local small manufacturers proactively respond to rapidly changing industrial environments and market conditions by enhancing their technological capabilities and management skills, supporting them to grow into small but strong companies with competitive advantages.

Eligible applicants are urban-type small manufacturers operating within Paju City as of the announcement date, with annual sales of 8 billion won or 12 billion won or less by industry, and fewer than 10 regular employees.

The project provides customized support in a total of five areas: improvement of the working environment, product development, promotion/marketing/intellectual property (IP), and introduction of smart manufacturing processes. Selected companies will receive tailored assistance according to each area.

Applications will be accepted from July 4 to July 18, and can be submitted through the Gyeonggi-do Small Business Integrated Support Platform 'Gyeonggi Baro' (https://ggbaro.kr).

Kim Kyoungil, Mayor of Paju, said, "This project is significant as it is the first customized support program for small manufacturers in Paju City," adding, "We will implement effective policies to help local small manufacturers develop their own competitiveness and grow in the face of changing market conditions."
