[PollPoll News] President Lee's Approval Rating at 59.7% ... Positive Evaluation Surpasses Negative Even in TK

Realmeter 4th Week of June Survey Results
Gap Between Two Major Parties Widens to 20.6 Percentage Points

President Lee Jae Myung's approval rating for his administration has risen slightly. Even in Daegu and North Gyeongsang (TK), regions where support had previously been weak, positive evaluations surpassed negative ones, including during the presidential election. In terms of party support, the Democratic Party widened its lead over the People Power Party.


According to a public opinion poll released by Realmeter on the 30th (commissioned by Energy Economy News, conducted nationwide among 2,511 adults aged 18 and older from the 23rd to the 27th using a wireless automated response method, with a margin of error of ±2.0 percentage points at a 95% confidence level and a response rate of 5.8%), President Lee's approval rating for state affairs stood at 59.7%, up 0.4 percentage points from the previous week. The negative evaluation was 33.6%, up 0.1 percentage points.

President Lee's approval rating exceeded 50% in all regions nationwide, including TK. Based on the combined positive evaluations of "very good" and "somewhat good," President Lee recorded 50.1% in TK, 53.5% in Seoul, 62.4% in Incheon and Gyeonggi, 61.9% in the Chungcheong region, 55.7% in Gangwon, 53.8% in Busan, Ulsan, and South Gyeongsang, 79.0% in the Honam region, and 65.0% in Jeju.


By age group, except for those in their 20s (ages 18-29), where the negative evaluation (47.1%) was higher than the positive evaluation (45.6%), all other age groups showed higher positive evaluations than negative ones. Among those in their 30s, the positive evaluation was 50.9%; in their 40s, 76.0%; in their 50s, 71.9%; in their 60s, 58.0%; and among those aged 70 and older, 50.2%.

In terms of party support (commissioned by Energy Economy News, conducted nationwide among 1,000 adults aged 18 and older from the 26th to the 27th using a wireless automated response method, with a margin of error of ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level and a response rate of 4.9%), the Democratic Party's support rate was 50.6%, up 2.2 percentage points from the previous week, while the People Power Party recorded 30.0%, down 1.4 percentage points.
