A new chief has been appointed to lead the Women’s Volunteer Fire Brigade in Jochiwon-eup, a central commercial district in the northern area of Sejong City. The Volunteer Fire Brigade is an organization that cooperates with fire administration and plays a pivotal role in local areas by responding to fire-related incidents and accidents.

The Northern Fire Station of the Sejong Fire Headquarters announced that it held the inauguration and retirement ceremony for the Jochiwon-eup Women’s Volunteer Fire Brigade chiefs simultaneously on the 27th.

On this day, about 100 people attended the ceremony, including Mayor Minho Choi, firefighters, and volunteer brigade members, to express appreciation for the outgoing chief’s dedicated service and to congratulate the new chief on their appointment.

Mayor Choi presented a plaque of appreciation to outgoing chief Inja An, who joined the Volunteer Fire Brigade in 2000 and contributed to establishing a culture of safety in the community with a strong sense of duty and volunteer spirit. He said, "With the appointment of the new chief, Geunnam Ryu, I look forward to even more vibrant activities from the Jochiwon-eup Women’s Volunteer Fire Brigade," and added, "Thank you to everyone for your efforts on behalf of the community."

Outgoing chief Inja An then handed over the Volunteer Fire Brigade flag to the new chief, Geunnam Ryu. The new chief, Geunnam Ryu, stated, "I will do my best to strengthen communication and unity among members and to ensure the safety of the local community."
