Sharing Chungmu Exercise Results and Reviewing Preparation Plans for Hwarang Exercise

Changwon Special City held the 'Integrated Defense Council Meeting for Q2 2025' at the City Hall's 3rd Conference Room, presided over by Acting Mayor Jang Geumyong. More than 30 council members and related personnel from the public, private, military, and police sectors attended the meeting.

The meeting, which took place on June 27, began with the screening of a video related to terrorism. The council then focused on reporting the results of the recent Chungmu Exercise and discussing preparation plans for the Hwarang Exercise scheduled for the second half of the year.

In particular, Unit 5870 presented its preparation plans for the 2025 Gyeongnam Region Hwarang Exercise, which is set to take place in the second half of the year.

This upcoming exercise will be conducted primarily as a field maneuver, with a concentrated assessment of practical response capabilities such as protection of key facilities, citizen evacuation, and mobilization of reservists throughout Changwon City.

The exercise will involve joint participation from the public, private, military, and police sectors, testing an integrated response system under near-real conditions. Changwon City plans to cooperate with relevant agencies to minimize inconvenience to citizens.

Acting Mayor Jang Geumyong stated, "Based on the achievements from the Chungmu Exercise, we will establish an even more complete response system for the upcoming Hwarang Exercise and Ulchi Exercise," adding, "Through realistic training, we will thoroughly protect the lives and safety of our citizens."
