The Honor Society is a group of high-value individual donors organized by the Community Chest of Korea. Individuals are eligible to join if they donate at least 100 million won or pledge to donate this amount within five years.

Through this membership, CEO Choi pledged to donate a total of 100 million won over five years and made a designated donation of 20 million won on this day.

The membership ceremony, held in the mayor's office on the same day, was attended by CEO Sanggon Choi, Inwook Kwon, Chairman of the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea, Kyunga Lee, Head of the Northern Gyeonggi Business Headquarters, and other related officials, who shared in the spirit of warm giving.

The donated 20 million won will be used for the Multicultural Family Support Project at the Yangju City Family Center and for supporting children from vulnerable households through the Northern Gyeonggi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It is expected to provide practical help in closing welfare gaps and expanding educational opportunities in the region.

CEO Sanggon Choi said, "I decided to join the Honor Society out of a belief that social responsibility should grow alongside corporate growth," and added, "I will continue to give back to the community and pursue various forms of social contribution as we grow together with the region."

Chairman Inwook Kwon said, "CEO Choi's warm-hearted decision serves as a model of charitable giving not only for Yangju City but for the entire northern Gyeonggi region. I hope the donor's intentions will spread widely throughout the community and lead to even greater sharing."

Mayor Suhyun Kang of Yangju City expressed deep gratitude, saying, "I sincerely thank CEO Sanggon Choi for his warm-hearted donation to support our neighbors in need. We will make sure that these valuable funds are delivered to the welfare sites where they are most needed so that we can create a Yangju City where all citizens are happy."

Meanwhile, CEO Choi established Coolmax Co., Ltd., a company specializing in industrial refrigeration and freezing equipment, in 2005 in Gwangjeok-myeon, Yangju City, where it is still headquartered. He has also contributed to the development of the local economy, including serving as the 15th president of the Northern Gyeonggi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
