Shot Dead Around 8 p.m.
No Human or Property Damage Reported
A wild boar that had been roaming around Sanggye-dong in Nowon-gu, Seoul was shot and killed after 1 hour and 30 minutes.
According to fire authorities on the 27th, the wild boar appeared near Danghyeon Elementary School in Sanggye-dong at around 6:30 p.m. that day. The animal wandered around the Dongbu Expressway and Sanggye-dong area before being shot and killed at around 8:00 p.m., 1 hour and 30 minutes after it first appeared.
Fire authorities believe the wild boar likely came down from Suraksan Mountain in Nowon-gu, Seoul.
No casualties or property damage were reported as a result of the wild boar's appearance. Authorities also confirmed that there were no signs of the animal charging into commercial or residential areas.
At 7:38 p.m. that evening, Nowon-gu sent a safety alert text message to residents, advising them to stay indoors and refrain from going outside as the wild boar could escape.
