Pirelli Launches New "Cinturato P9 AS," Expanding Cinturato Lineup and Setting a New Standard for All-Season Tires

Performance Enhancements Across Multiple Dimensions:
Improved Stability, Durability, Safety, Rolling Resistance, and Hydroplaning Prevention

Pirelli Launches New "Cinturato P9 AS," Expanding Cinturato Lineup and Setting a New Standard for All-Season Tires

Pirelli announced on the 30th that it has launched the latest addition to its flagship Cinturato lineup, the all-season tire "Cinturato P9 AS."

This tire boasts enhanced safety, comfort, and durability, as well as optimized hydroplaning resistance. Equipped with advanced technology and a refined tread compound, it delivers outstanding stability and control on both wet and dry surfaces. Another key advantage is its improved efficiency, achieved through low rolling resistance.

Designed to meet the diverse needs of drivers across various vehicle types and driving environments, the "Cinturato P9 AS" will be available in a total of 51 sizes, ranging from 16 to 21 inches, including 9 run-flat options.

The culmination of innovative design and cutting-edge technology... Enhanced performance for all seasons and road conditions

The "Cinturato P9 AS" is regarded as a hallmark result of Pirelli R&D's innovative development process. This process integrates artificial intelligence and advanced simulation technologies, enabling precise engineering at every stage. In practice, Pirelli engineers utilize virtualization tools and AI-based design processes to optimize performance parameters and streamline R&D, thereby reducing the need for extensive physical testing.

The "Cinturato P9 AS" is engineered to deliver exceptional performance and improved hydroplaning resistance on wet surfaces. By evenly distributing void ratios throughout the tread pattern, the tire enhances water drainage and increases grip on wet roads. Notably, a newly developed tread compound ensures stable control even during rainy driving conditions.

Additionally, the introduction of 3D sipes on the tire shoulders increases tread stiffness while further enhancing braking response and safety in various weather conditions, including snowy roads. The implementation of this innovative design is based on virtualization technology, which allows for complex modeling and performance validation before physical prototypes are produced.

Consistent high safety from start to finish

Safety is a core value for Pirelli. The "Cinturato P9 AS" features an optimized contact patch, ensuring even pressure distribution across the tire surface. This advancement contributes to uniform wear, improved braking performance on dry roads, and an overall increase in tire lifespan.

Even as the tire wears, its high-expansion sipe structure minimizes performance degradation. In fact, even at 90% wear, the tire maintains 71% of its sipe expansion capability, ensuring stable braking and grip until the end of its service life.

Furthermore, the asymmetric design, characterized by a wider outer shoulder and an optimized pitch sequence, improves cornering stability and braking performance while minimizing road noise for a quieter and more comfortable ride. In addition, a firmer tread pattern across all ribs and reduced tread depth help lower rolling resistance and can contribute to improved fuel efficiency.

A Pirelli representative stated, "With the launch of the Cinturato P9 AS, Pirelli has once again demonstrated its commitment to innovation and safety," adding, "Setting new standards for all-season performance, the Cinturato P9 AS is the optimal choice for drivers seeking a stable, high-performance solution, thanks to its enhanced durability, efficiency, and control."

Pirelli Cinturato lineup: Synonymous with technology and safety

Seventy years ago, Pirelli engineers revolutionized the tire industry by developing an innovative tire prototype. Featuring a belt structure surrounding the radial carcass as its core technology, this tire evolved into the "Cinturato" series, which has since delivered greater strength and outstanding stability.

The early "Cinturato" series was initially fitted to classic models such as Lancia, but it gradually expanded to supercars including Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Maserati, broadening the concept of high-performance tires for everyday use.

With ongoing technological advancements, the "Cinturato" series has continuously evolved and now includes a diverse lineup such as the "Cinturato P7," "Cinturato Winter," and "Cinturato All Season." The "Cinturato P9 AS," as the next-generation model in this tradition, is recognized as an all-season tire that combines cutting-edge technology, safety, and driving efficiency.
