The meeting was attended by the mayor of Yeoju, the vice mayor, department heads, the president of Yeoju Urban Corporation, and the chairman of the Yeoju Sejong Culture and Tourism Foundation. Four city departments and two affiliated organizations participated to discuss strategies for the development of Yeoju's tourism industry.
This meeting was organized to discuss tourism revitalization measures tailored to Yeoju's unique characteristics, based on the results of the "Yeoju City Tourism Branding and Promotion Marketing Strategy Establishment Service."
The 20 proposed action plan projects aim to maximize the use of Yeoju's abundant tourism resources, strengthen the city's tourism economy, and promote mutually beneficial growth with the local economy. The projects focus on four key areas: tourism infrastructure, promotional marketing, revitalization of existing resources, and the development of tourism content.
In particular, the plan includes a variety of events and experiential programs utilizing existing resources such as Silleuksa Tourist Site, Chulleong Bridge, Gangcheon Island, and Daesin Island, as well as the development of unique local foods and souvenirs to further enrich tourism content. Through this strategic approach, Yeoju City aims to establish itself as an attractive city that offers unforgettable experiences to visitors, going beyond being a simple tourist destination.
Mayor Lee Chungwoo stated, "We will actively incorporate the matters discussed at this meeting to ensure that Yeoju transforms into an attractive city that offers visitors special experiences, rather than merely serving as a tourist destination. We will strive to promote mutually beneficial growth with the local economy and widely publicize Yeoju's unique appeal by expanding tourism infrastructure and developing new content."
Yeoju City plans to actively reflect the opinions presented at this meeting in the detailed implementation plans, aiming for the sustainable development of Yeoju's tourism sector.
