"Into the Lives of the People" is a field-oriented city administration communication program in which Mayor Donggeun Kim, since the launch of the 8th popularly elected administration, has personally visited citizens in their daily lives to listen to their voices.

This meeting was organized to share the unique qualities of Uijeongbu that citizens have created in their everyday lives through participation in the program, and to provide an opportunity to rediscover the city's identity from the citizens' perspective.

About ten citizens participated in the meeting, including representatives from: the plant studio "Odiji Plant"; the donation-based recycling cultural space "Soop Story"; the traditional folk painting studio "Yeoul Minhwa"; "Stanley Barbershop," run by a barber formerly based at a U.S. military base; the animal-loving bookstore "Dongban Books"; the children's sports facility "Yongin University No.1 Taekwondo Studio"; and the youth branding company "Jsoop," known for its creative branding.

Under the theme "Stories That Make You Envy Uijeongbu: Sharing Time Again with Citizens," participants discussed their favorite places in the region and shared their thoughts on urban spaces. At the event, Mayor Kim expressed his gratitude, saying, "It is truly precious to gather together with citizens who make our city special and share our experiences."

"Into the Lives of the People" has evolved beyond simple field visits and has expanded into citizen-led initiatives. The youth club "Gangjwi Bakenaen Molla" and the citizen-formed "Gangajittong Bangbumdae" organized a trash collection campaign along the Jungnangcheon River under the slogan, "The riverside our dogs visit every day?let's keep it clean through plogging." The running community "Uijeongbu Running Crew" has also promoted a healthy urban culture by running around the Sports Complex and Jungnangcheon River.

Mayor Donggeun Kim emphasized, "The small but meaningful changes created by citizens throughout the region are what truly complete the unique character of Uijeongbu. Going forward, the city administration will continue to reach out directly and learn from the stories of our citizens."
