The Public Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on June 26 that they had met with CEO Kim, who is currently incarcerated at Seoul Detention Center in Uiwang, Gyeonggi Province, and are investigating the circumstances behind the accusations and complaints filed against Representative Lee.
Last month, CEO Kim filed accusations and complaints against Representative Lee, alleging violations of the Information and Communications Network Act and the Public Official Election Act, claiming that Lee's assertion that the sexual bribery allegations were "false" amounted to the spreading of false information.
Last year, prosecutors concluded that there was insufficient evidence to determine that Representative Lee had received sexual favors.
Meanwhile, CEO Kim is currently serving a sentence for fraud and other charges.
